Renewable Energy Incentive Program
New for 2009! New Jersey's Clean Energy Program launches the Renewable Energy Incentive Program. The program will provide incentives for onsite renewable energy projects using solar, wind, and biopower technologies.
The 2008 Renewable Clean Energy Programs, including the Customer On-Site Renewable Energy (CORE) Program and the SREC-Only Pilot Program, ended as of December 31, 2008.
The following rebate levels will be available for renewable energy projects in 2009:
- Solar
Residential systems (less than or equal to 10kW) with a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR audit - $1.75 per watt

Residential Systems without an energy audit - $1.55 per watt
Non-Residential Systems (less than or equal to 50kW) - $1.00 per watt
All solar projects that receive rebates are eligible to receive SRECs.
The above solar rebate levels will be in effect for applications received from February 2-April 30, 2009. The rebate amounts are subject to change throughout the year.
- Wind - Incentives for wind will be based on estimated system production
- Biopower - Incentives for biopower will be based on system capacity
Additional rebate amounts will be available for projects that use renewable energy systems or components manufactured or assembled in New Jersey. An additional $0.25 per watt of capacity is available for these projects.
Please note 2009 Renewable Energy Incentive Program applications will be posted on the website on Monday, February 2, 2009. The 2009 Renewable Energy Incentive Program will start accepting applications on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 9 am - 5 pm at 75 Lincoln Highway, Suite 100, Iselin, NJ. Applications may only be submitted by mail or hand delivery. Applications will not be accepted via fax or e-mail
